The Bookmen: Wednesdays @ Manuel's Restaurant

The B/files/HeaderImages/Images/13.JPGookmen of Desert Hills Lutheran Church is a fellowship religious study group that meets each Wednesday from 8-9:00 a.m. at the Manuel's Restaurant, 121 Duval Road, Green Valley, for breakfast and discussion of timely books, both sacred and secular.  We welcome all men who like to read and learn as well as those who enjoy heavenly hilarity all the way to rich, caring grace!

You can join these Wednesday morning gatherings at any time for breakfast, fellowship and an exhilarating book discussion.  All men are invited!

For more information contact Jim Heid and check the Quail Notes Newsletter for current discussion books.

Bookmen Make a Difference  by delivering a station wagon load of beans and rice donated by the Bookmen to Crossroads Nogales Mission in Nogales, Arizona, this spring.

Prostrate Wellness Group meets on the 2nd Friday of the month at 9am in the fellowship hall.  We've been "off" during the summer but our next meeting is Friday, September 17 (the third Friday this month), at 9:00 a.m.  Discussion leaders vary from medical professionals to group members.  Refreshments provided.  Call the Parish Nurse for more information at the church office (648-1633).

Estate Sales are another way for the men in the church to make a difference.  Help is needed to sort, price, and set up before the sale, as well as helping on the sale days.  So if you want to have a fun-filled day with friends, volunteer a few hours.  Our DHLC building fund received 25% of the Estate Sale proceeds.  If you are interested, call Marlys Daley at 625-9829, Shirley Klos, or the church office at 648-1633.
