DESERT HILLS LUTHERAN CHURCH FOUNDATION      

     The Desert Hills Lutheran Church Foundation grants for the year ended March 31, 2011, included:
$1,703 to Lutheran Campus Ministry at The University of Arizona;
$1,000 to St. Andrew's Children's Clinic and
$1,000 to the Green Valley-Sahuarita Community Food Bank
(Click on the grant recipient name for information about the organization.)  Since its inception in 2004 the Foundation has granted more than $21,700 in scholarships, supporting local charities and the mission work of Desert Hills Lutheran Church.

     The Desert Hills Lutheran Church Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization, was established in 2004.  The intent of the corporation is to distribute the net income annually on a one-year lagging basis.  The Bylaws state that there shall be no distribution of principal.  The distributions of the corporation may be designated, but not limited, to the following purposes: local missions, outreach, evangelism, scholarships, ministry to youth, ministry to the aged, promotion of worship services, provide for growth, and support to the pastoral team.


     The Foundation may be designated as a beneficiary in your will, trust, life insurance policy, pension and profit-sharing plan, and other estate instruments.

     Foundation Board members are John Bentley, President; Judy Gunson, Vice-President; Hart Holmberg, Vice-President: Ed Wismeyer, Treasurer; Shirley Johnson, Secretary; Rob Bonnema, Richard Borstad, Frank Brendemuehl, Karen Eble; Arlene Miller; Pastor Martin Overson; Barry Haber, Congregation Council liaison.
