Turn Church Contacts into True Connections
In a large church like Desert Hills, it takes a
concerted effort to make simple contacts turn into true connections. These
connections are meant to help each of us grow in the Lord whether it is
through service, fellowship, Bible study or prayer/worship. At DHLC we
Celebrate Grace, look to Make Disciples, and work to Make a
Difference.
How can connections help us meet this congregational mission?
First, we establish small groups where people become much more than just a contact to each other. ChristCare groups (a small group ministry) is part of Stephen's Ministries from St. Louis, MO. ChristCare groups are designed to assist the congregation in meeting its mission.
Second, ChristCare groups combine Prayer and Worship, Community/Fellowship Building, Mission Service, and Biblical Study with their actions, which Christ Care Ministry calls "Biblical Equipping".
Third, "Biblical Equipping" begins when Pastor Martin highlights a particular act or service related to the sermon scripture. Then he closes his sermon with a challenge to each of us: Go out, practice that act or service during the next week.
More on "Biblical Equipping" in the future as we get more involved with small groups here at DHLC.
See the bottom of the Home Page for current times and meeting places.
If you have been in a ChristCare group in the past, I would enjoy hearing from you. I can be reached via email at connections@dhlc.org or by calling the church at 648-1633.
