Desert Hills Lutheran Church is a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.

If you are interested in joining Desert Hills Lutheran Church or just have questions about the church, you are invited to join us for one of our six-week New Member Classes exploring the various membership options and opportunities here at DHLC. Pastor Martin Overson leads this class which is offered four times a year. You may take the morning class (9:30am) or the evening class (6:30pm), whichever fits your schedule. Please check with the church office for specific dates for the next class.

You may sign up on the CONNECTION CARD in the pew rack on the weekend or call the church office (520 648-1633).

Following the last class, there is a celebration dinner which gives everyone a chance to visit and get to know each other. New members will be received into membership during worship services the following weekend.

Types of Memberships available at DHLC:

There are three types of membership at Desert Hills Lutheran Church:

♦ Active Members hold their only church membership at DHLC. Active members have voting privileges on all issues associated with DHLC, the Grand Canyon Synod and the ELCA. They are eligible for election to the Congregation Council.

♦ Winter Members are those who spend five months or more each year in this area. Winter Members should consider DHLC as their home church during the time that they live in our area. They have the same status as Active Members, including voting privileges on all issues except those associated with the Grand Canyon Synod or the ELCA. Winter Members may also be eligible for election to the Congregation Council.

♦ Associate Members are those holding membership in other Christian congregations who wish to retain such membership but desire to also participate in the life and mission of DHLC. Associate Members have all of the privileges and duties of membership except voting rights and eligibility for elected offices or membership on the Congregation Council of DHLC.
