“13 Are any among you suffering? They should pray. Are any cheerful? They should sing songs of praise. 14 Are any among you sick? They should call for the elders of the church and have them pray over them, anointing them with oil in the name of the Lord.”
James 5:13-14

This message was sent out by James almost 2,000 years ago. It is part of a letter that has a great deal of exhortation and encouragement. It is still relevant for us today at Desert Hills Lutheran Church. The ministry and actions of Pastoral Care Team act as a “constellation of care” among the galaxy of what the members and friends of Desert Hills Lutheran Church do for each other. Thank you for letting your lights shine. Members of the team are:

Pastor Ron Glusenkamp, Interim Pastor

Chaplain Mark Westrich, Pastoral Care Team

Pastor Barb Rapp, Pastoral Care Team

Anthony Potter, Pastoral Care Team

Eileen Dahm, Pastoral Care Team

Jan Howard, Director of Pastoral Care and Ministry Support

Additionally, Desert Hills Lutheran Church has Stephen Ministers and other caring folks who reach out to our friends and members in need. Continue watching for information regarding what this team is about and how they are committed to meeting the spiritual and pastoral needs and concerns of the congregation. One tangible activity that the Pastoral Care Team is in discernment about right away is offering grief support classes.
