“I give thee what I have”

Once there was a town whose people thought they could not give.  They felt they had too little to share with those who passed through their town.  They didn't know how to give what they had.

Then someone came to them who saw their need and gift wrapped their bread.  Soon the people began to gift wrap their drink.  Then they gift wrapped other common things:  shoes and socks, eggs and toast, carrots and broccoli.  They even put ribbons on their water faucets and trees and bicycles.

They took a fresh look at these things and saw them all as gifts.  They learned to give, for they learned to see what they had.

Now these people look forward to giving to those who journey through their town.
