Sermon Thoughts:

This weekend we celebrate Pentecost, also called the birthday of the church. This Pentecost celebration has its origins in the Jewish celebration of the Feast of New Fruits. A time when the community would bring their offering to the temple to express their trust that God would continue to provide for them beyond the first harvest. During this festival of New Fruits, God sends the Holy Spirit to bring new fruit in us. God is doing a new thing as God breaks down barriers between people as they all hear the good news of Jesus in their own language.

Dig deeper:

How might we need to communicate in a new way to speak to others who do not know the language of faith?
