All Saints Weekend

Philippians 3:12-16, Hebrews 12:1-2

This weekend we celebrate the great crowd of witnesses, those Saints of God who have shared their faith with us so that we too might know the wonder of God’s love. Both the reading from Philippians and Hebrews reminds us that faith is a journey, a race, that moves us forward. Faith is not a one-time event but a continual movement as we move from our death to this world and our new life in God’s Kingdom. Each step along our journey of life is an opportunity to mature in our faith and grow in our trust in God. Faith is not static but dynamic, constantly changing and requiring us to change. The Kingdom of God always lies ahead as we journey together towards what God is doing. We never reach perfection but are always moving towards this new life in Christ. So, what lies ahead? God’s inbreaking of the Kingdom and our transformation into new life.
