Notes:

This weekend we have a scripture reading from a letter that Paul wrote to the church in Ephesus, and a letter Peter wrote to the Christians scattered across Asia Minor. Both letters were written to inspire each community in their relationship with God through Christ and how they are called to live this out together in community. This weekend we celebrate our life together. On Sunday we are having our annual congregational meeting, which is an opportunity for us to gather as the body of Christ in this place and imagine how we might live out our faith together. Several weeks ago, I mentioned that the primary purpose of the church is to live life together under the promises and grace of God. Both Paul and Peter remind us that living this faith is not easy, nor should it be done in isolation. In community we care for one another, bear with one another, love one another, and struggle with one another. All the while believing that the Kingdom of God is among us and that the Holy Spirit will guide and strengthen us.
