If you want to flourish in life, then one’s focus must be on creating and maintaining healthy relationships. From the moment that God saw it was not good for Adam to be alone, the importance of relationships has been a focal point in scripture. It is our broken relationship with God that brought Jesus to restore that relationship. Not only does our sin damage our relationship with God, but it also damages our relationships with others and with creation itself. To live the abundant life that Jesus has brought us requires the restoration of relationships since they are deeply affected by sin. God has never wanted us to live this life alone, that is why Jesus promises to never abandon or forsake us. We were created for a relationship with God, one another, and all of God’s creation.
