"Where Do You Abide?"- Sat. April 20, 2024

Jesus reminds us that we are to abide with him. What does it mean to abide? While we often think of abiding as a passive or ceasing of activity, this is not the case in John. To abide is to be actively engaged in life, while remaining attracted to Jesus. We enter the world with all its issues through our deep connection with Jesus. It is through our connection with Jesus that we can bear the fruit God desires in our lives. In this scripture, bearing fruit only happens when we remain connected to the vines. Without the vine, the branches cannot and will not bear fruit. The fruit we bear is not a result of our actions or for our own benefit but because of our willingness to be connected to the vine.
