As we are captured by God’s grace, we are moved to begin this journey of faith and discipleship. Peter’s confession is not a precondition for following Jesus; it comes in the middle of his journey of discipleship. Our formation too is a long process—lifelong, in fact—which begins at baptism (or even before!) and is guided by those who traveled before and with us. This is a journey we do not take alone but with other disciples who are on their own journey of discipleship. It is also a journey of invitation. We are to invite others to travel with us, as together we discover what it means to follow Jesus as we look for opportunities to share our story.
